1. How old do I have to be to get started?
The minimum age to get started is 13 years
2. Does MMLL provide training?
Our leagues is working on offering local training with one of our own umpires Mike Newton. More details to follow. NH Little League is working to conduct yearly state-wide clinics to help improve your rule knowledge and mechanics. There are also opportunities to attend the regional umpire school in Bristol, CT twice a year.
3. Can I get paid?
Yes, our league provides payment for umpires for completing games. Amounts vary based on experience.
4. Does MMLL provide equipment?
We do not provide a uniform or equipment, but you are able to use our local plate gear. We recommend using the Gerry Davis store as Little League offers a discount if you order through them.
5. Why should I umpire?
Umpiring is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in your community and give back to the game you love! You will make so many connections with great people. There are many opportunities waiting for you.
6. How does scheduling work?
The schedule you want is the schedule you get! Only want to work once a week? No problem. Want to work everyday? Sounds great! Umpiring is completely on your time and we are flexible based on your schedule.
